The Ramadan Fast Begins Today

The Ramadan fast began today, Saturday 2nd April 2022 after the eager wait to sight the moon which was spotted on Friday 1st April, 2022.

In a statement by the official SPA news agency, the Saudi Kingdom has announced that Saturday marks the first day of the holy month of Ramadan during which Muslims all over would observe the religious 30-day Muslim fast.

The sighting of the moon which heralds the beginning of the Ramadan fast was confirmed by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III.

₦4trn Petrol Subsidy Request by President Buhari, Approved

The ₦4trn requested by President Muhammed Bubari for payment of petrol subsidy was approved on Thursday by the House of Representatives.

President Buhari has asked for a further ₦3.557 trillion in addition to the ₦442.72 billion allocated for petrol subsidy in 2022.

Members of the House of Reps approved the petrol subsidy and also approve the reduction in the production quota of crude oil from 1.8 million barrels per day to 1.6 million barrels per day.
